Description: Please note location update: Library Station (Sante Fe Room), 2535 N Kansas Expressway, Springfield, MO 65803

Join us as we kick off 2019 by building our foundational knowledge of trauma and the brain. We will be watching an intriguing short film on the topic as we learn from scientists and professionals about the impact of trauma on children that have grown up in toxic environments due to things like abuse, neglect, domestic violence, parental drug use, etc. This look into how our brains are affected will help be our foundational building block for understanding and responding to trauma in the children that we work with as CASA volunteers. The film will be 1hr and 20min and will be followed up by a short discussion of the content and how we can apply this information to our role as a CASA Volunteer. You will receive 2 hours of training credit. We will provide snacks and drinks! Hope to see you there!
